eScience Opportunitiesโ€‹

The eScience Institute at the University of Washington is holding a Software Carpentry workshop on October 19th to 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to noon PT each day. The workshop focuses on software tools to make researchers more effective, allowing them to automate research tasks, automatically track their research over time, and use programming in Python to accelerate their research and make it more reproducible. MATLAB on Hyak Research Clustersโ€‹

We have recently made improvements to the user experience for using MATLAB on our clusters.

MATLAB is available on both UW on-premises research computing clusters: Hyak Klone and Tillicum. These systems, operated by UWIT Research Computing, provide scalable high-performance computing resources for a wide range of research workloads.

After purchasing a MATLAB license, you can activate MATLAB on Hyak Klone or Tillicum for large-scale computing workflows.

Learn more about using MATLAB on Hyak.

UW students: Students who pay the Student Technology Fee can access Hyak Klone through the Research Computing Club for independent research and use MATLAB on Hyak at no additional cost.
